Founded in 1985, the Nordex Group has established itself as a pioneer in the wind energy industry. It has been operating in the German market since the late 1980s. Two models of the world’s first serial-production turbine – the N27/150 – are still producing green electricity in Hamburg’s first wind farm, after 32 years. With more than 8521 MW of comissioned onshore capacity and an additional 4,781 MW under construction, the Nordex Group has so far already made a significant contribution to the energy transition in Germany. Our own nacelle production and switch cabinet manufacturing facilities in Rostock enable us to serve the German market with high local value creation, short delivery routes, and particularly sustainable projects. In Germany, the Nordex Group employs approximately 3,100 people from around 90 nations. Our team ensures that customers across the country benefit from quick accessibility and regional service expertise, operating from our corporate headquarters and the Global Technical Academy in Hamburg; locations in Rostock; a sales office in Oberhausen; two further regional offices in Paderborn and Leipzig; and 35 service points nationwide. Around 480 highly qualified technicians and specialists maintain wind turbines with a combined capacity of over 7.5 GW throughout the country. And demonstrating its success – for the fourth consecutive time, the Nordex Group has ranked first among turbine manufacturers in the service survey conducted by the German Wind Energy Association (Bundesverband WindEnergie e.V.).

The Nordex Group has been a pioneer in the wind industry since 1985 and has been operating in the German market since the late 1980s. As a reliable and strong partner, the German subsidiary offers everything from sales to service – all from a single source.
In the first half of 2025, a total of 409 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 2,202.2 MW were commissioned across Germany. With 702.8 MW installed, Nordex secured a market share of approximately 32%, proudly positioning itself as the market leader (evaluation: Fachagentur Wind und Solar). A key driver behind this success is the Delta4000 series. This platform combines proven serial production technology with a flexible design approach, enabling optimal adaptation to diverse site conditions, and resulting in high demand from customers.
NORDEX PRODUCT PORTFOLIO FOR THE GERMAN MARKET
NORDEX’ FLAGSHIP N175/6.X
With its flexible rated power—now also available in a 7.0 MW mode—the N175/6.X is perfectly suited to Germany’s wind conditions. This turbine excels at low and medium-wind sites: thanks to its large rotor, the N175/6.X can generate up to 22% more energy in low-wind environments compared to its sister model, the N163. This results in an overall yield increase of 7 to 15%—a significant boost in efficiency for operators. At high-wind locations, the N175/6.X also proves its reliability, featuring a robust design and validated structural integrity. This was demonstrated at the prototype site in Santow, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where average wind speeds of 7.8 m/s were recorded. Despite its powerful performance, the N175/6.X remains impressively quiet. Built on the proven Delta4000 platform, it features a three-point gearbox suspension and an elastomer coupling between the gearbox and main frame—minimizing vibrations and ensuring smooth, low-noise operation.
NORDEX’ INHOUSE HYBRID TOWER TECHNOLOGIE
With over 15 years of experience in the development and manufacturing of concrete towers, the Nordex Group is setting new standards in the onshore wind sector. Our in-house developed hybrid tower combines proven technology with innovative design, enabling hub heights of 162, 179 or 199 meters. The modular tower design, combined with a ramp-up of dedicated expert teams and close cooperation with external concrete plants, enables us to scale production efficiently and adapt to project needs with ease. With all this in place, we deliver projects efficiently, locally, and to the highest standards. A major milestone was the second N175/6.X prototype on a hybrid tower featuring a hub height of 179 meters in Santow, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The production of the first concrete keystones launched series production in April 2025. Installation of the first pre-series turbine is planned for September, followed by its commissioning in October. The pre-series will conclude with the commissioning of the last turbine in January 2026.
GLOBAL TECHNICAL ACADEMY
The Global Technical Academy (GTA) in Germany is the Nordex Group’s central training facility and offers a comprehensive portfolio of technical and GWO-certified training courses, both on-site and online. It relies on innovative learning methods such as blended learning, classroom training, webinars, e-learning, and self-study – all flexibly combined.
In addition to training for our own employees, the Nordex Group also offers training opportunities for customers, operators, subcontractors, suppliers, and international PM/EPC partners. The spectrum of topics ranges from wind turbine basics to maintenance procedures on site. On more than 1,600 square meters of training space, guests have access to fully functional Gamma and Delta turbines, two Delta4000 simulators, two mobile and three permanently installed SCADA (NC2) simulators, and five fully functional main converters (Vertiv/Emerson, Ingeteam, ConverterTec/Woodward, GE, IDS) for realistic training. Whether in person or online: in eight well-equipped seminar rooms and four webinar rooms, we offer optimal conditions for training courses, workshops, and seminars. Our networking area invites to exchange ideas, deepen your knowledge of specialist topics, and make valuable contacts.
