As a manufacturer of onshore wind turbines, the Nordex Group plays a key role in creating a sustainable energy landscape, and interest in renewable energies in Poland is growing. The Nordex Group has been present in the country since 2007, and currently employs 58 people, spread across the local head office in Warsaw and nine service points. The onshore wind energy capacity installed to date exceeds 700 MW.
Our Products for Poland
Turbines, primarily from the Delta generation – the fourth generation of the Nordex Group’s multi-megawatt platform – are currently under construction, and are set to produce an additional 272 MW. With this generation of turbine, Nordex Group customers benefit from sophisticated technical solutions that have proven their worth a thousand times over.
The Delta4000 Series
Customers of the Nordex Group have also placed orders for the delivery of N149/4.0-4.5 turbines from the Delta4000 series for PPA-based projects in Poland.
But with the market finally moving towards larger generators and taller towers, the Delta4000 platform is currently the most competitive turbine the Group has to offer. This includes also the N163/5.X, which is built on the proven performance and architecture of the N149/4.0-4.5, but due to its highly flexible siteability, offers +20% higher AEP. Launched in August 2019, the N163/5.X, along with the N149/5.X, takes flexibility to the next level: with hub heights of up to 164 meters and an enormous rotor diameter of more than 163 meters, the N163/5.X covers a wide range of power modes in the 5MW+ class. In addition to this, the turbine offers various sound and load-optimized modes for sites with low wind speeds, meaning that a wind farm can be optimized in terms of AEP, rating, lifetime or sound requirements, according to customer requirements.
N163/5.X
With the N163/5.X, we have incorporated our experience from developing and testing the Delta4000 series and driven our flexibility approach to the next level.
The latest developments are also showing that interest in PPAs, i.e. long-term power purchase agreements, has increased within the country. The PPA business model, which involves purchasing electricity directly from the renewable energy producer, and entering into a contract on the long-term supply of electricity for a price agreed in advance, is becoming an attractive counter-model outside of the national support programme. Customers of the Nordex Group have also placed orders for the delivery of N149/4.0-4.5 turbines from the Delta4000 series for PPA-based projects in Poland.
