THE NORDEX GROUP IN
THE UK & IRELAND
As a market leader within onshore wind in the UK, Nordex wants to ensure the sector has a strong voice within Renewable UK. With that in mind our UK MD, Jason Welch, is seeking your vote in the RenewableUK Board Election 2024.
“Like you, I’m passionate about Renewable Energy. Like you, I want to make a difference to the world I’m leaving for future generations. Like you, I want to make sure our industry has a strong voice through RUK. These are the main reasons I would like a place on the Board.
So what can I bring to the table? I have the knowledge, leadership, and experience to further strengthen the Board. I’ve worked within the UK energy industry for over 17 years, with the last 9 spent in onshore wind. As the Regional VP & Managing Director for Nordex UK & Ireland, I believe I have a responsibility to ensure that I not only represent my company, but also do everything I can to support the wider renewable industry.
I strongly believe that onshore wind can – and must – play a greater part in decarbonising the UK’s energy mix and helping us to move away from dependence on gas imports and fossil fuels. As many of you will know, Nordex is uniquely focused on onshore wind. I see first-hand, the many challenges facing delivery of the targeted 20 GW of additional onshore capacity in Scotland, and enabling further development in Wales and England. I can bring unique insights on the impact on the supply chain and the ways in which we can support the country’s ambitions.
Thank you for taking the time to read my piece.”

Under the legal entities of Nordex UK Ltd and Nordex Energy Ireland, we have 383 colleagues, working across three office locations: Didsbury, Manchester and Oola, County Limerick, which are our UK and Irish head offices respectively, and Cork. This is in addition to 10 service points which cover a vast area from Inverness in the north of Scotland, to Bridgend in south Wales. The Haslingden service point in the northwest of England is also a training centre for all service technicians in the area.
