Manufacturing areas

The nacelle is the key unit of a wind turbine, housing the drivetrain and electrical systems that convert rotational movement into electricity. At the Nordex Group, our Global Nacelle Team coordinates production and supply chain operations across six countries — Germany, Spain, India, Brazil, the USA, and China. Our engineers and technicians work with precision and purpose, integrating advanced components like gearboxes, generators, and converters into compact, high-performance units. With a focus on reliability, cost-efficiency, and continuous innovation, we deliver nacelles that meet the demands of wind farms around the world — and help accelerate the energy transition.

Blades are the aerodynamic engines of a wind turbine, capturing kinetic energy from the wind and driving the rotor. Each blade — always part of a trio — is a product of meticulous craftsmanship and technical expertise. At Nordex, blade manufacturing is a hands-on process where composite materials are layered, shaped, and cured with exacting care. Our teams combine manual skill with automated quality control systems to ensure structural integrity and aerodynamic precision. Every blade undergoes rigorous testing — from ultrasonic inspections to balance checks — before it’s cleared for transport. The result: blades that perform reliably under extreme conditions and contribute to maximum energy yield.

Towers elevate wind turbines to optimal heights. Nordex offers steel, concrete, and hybrid tower solutions tailored to site-specific requirements. While steel towers are fully sourced, we offer in house developed concrete and hybrid towers. Our knowledge builds on over 15 years and 2,600 units of extensive expertise in concrete tower design and production in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, USA, India, South Africa, Spain and Germany – now re-imagined for greater heights, stronger wind conditions and more demanding sites to meet evolving market demands and expectations.

Meet the team

Our manufacturing colleagues perform a wide range of tasks and roles around our product’s value chain. Get to know #TeamNordex and gain an insight into a day in a life of our manufacturing team members:

I joined Nordex in 2019 as a career changer, with no prior experience in wind energy. From the beginning, I received hands-on training and clear guidance, which made it easy to get up to speed. Today, I work in nacelle manufacturing at our Rostock site. I rotate between different stations, which keeps the work varied. What I appreciate most are the development opportunities. I’ve completed training to become an industrial electrician and qualified as a safety officer. Each step has expanded my knowledge and opened up new opportunities. At Nordex, learning doesn’t stop after onboarding. Whether it’s through formal training or learning by doing, I’m proud of what I’ve achieved.

In my hybrid role as a Concrete Tower Technician, I split my time between the field and the office – keeping my workday dynamic and full of variety. Every day, I collaborate with colleagues from around the world—South Africa, Brazil, Germany, Latvia, and Spain. These diverse perspectives enrich my work and constantly inspire new ways of thinking. A key part of my role is coordinating with clients, suppliers, Nordex teams, and subcontractors. This ongoing communication builds trust and ensures our projects run efficiently. What truly motivates me is our Safety Together mindset. It’s more than a slogan—it’s a shared commitment. Safety isn’t just one person’s job; it’s something we build together, every day, across every team.

As NDT Engineer Global Blades, I ensure inspection and quality control processes are properly implemented across suppliers and factories. I support compliance with standards from development to production and train inspectors—practically and theoretically—to meet technical and regulatory requirements. I create and review documentation, generate reports, and ensure traceability. My work includes technical analysis, remote coordination, and on-site visits in various countries, where I evaluate NDT techniques like ultrasound and visual inspection. I also take part in audits. What I value most is impacting product quality and safety, collaborating internationally, and contributing to sustainable wind energy solutions.
