Anniversary Newsletter #11: „40 Years of Global Collaboration”
Nordex’s journey began in 1985 with a small, dedicated team in Denmark, laying the foundation for innovation in wind energy. As the company expanded through the mid-1990s, its growing workforce—by then numbering several hundred—became a symbol of Nordex’s increasing international reach and cultural diversity, with employees working across various projects and geographies. The company’s IPO in the early 2000s accelerated this internationalization, leading to new offices across Europe and the United States and fostering a workplace rich in cross-cultural collaboration.
By 2012, Nordex employed around 2,500 people, each contributing perspectives shaped by their backgrounds and experiences. The pivotal 2016 merger with Acciona Windpower increased the workforce to nearly 4,600 employees, uniting people from the Americas, India and Spain with those primarily based in northern and central Europe and further enriching the company’s global identity.
Nordex’s growth continued and its workforce grew to over 10,000 by 2023. By the end of 2024, the company employed around 10,400 people, each helping to shape Nordex’s culture and international success.
Every day, and for decades now, Nordex teams in countries such as Türkiye, Spain, the United States, Argentina, Germany, Portugal, India, China or South Africa – and beyond – have contributed their perspectives, commitment, and ideas. This diversity fuels innovation at Nordex and strengthens our shared vision: to be a leading global provider of innovative, sustainable wind energy solutions that help empower communities and protect our planet for future generations – and to deliver reliable, efficient, and sustainable wind energy by harnessing the power of diversity, collaboration, and technological excellence.
