Nordex Group enters Ecuadorian market with first order for 112 MW wind project

Hamburg, 17 September 2025. The Nordex Group has secured a first order from Ecuador. A project developer has placed an order for 19 N149/5.X turbines for a wind farm located in the southern part of the country. The Delta4000 turbines will be installed on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 105 meters. The installation of the first turbine is scheduled for October 2026, with commissioning planned for March 2027. The names of the customer and the wind farm are not disclosed. The wind farm will particularly support Ecuador’s energy supply during the Amazon dry season and help reduce the risk of blackouts. This project represents the first wind project for the Nordex Group in Ecuador. With only 69 MW of installed wind capacity across three projects so far, the wind farm will significantly boost renewable energy production in the Andean nation.
