Nordex Group receives new N163/5.X orders for the Nordics

The Nordex Group has received two orders for N163/5.X turbines of the Delta4000 series in the Nordic region.

The wind farm Karhunnevankangas will be built in the municipality of Pyhäjoki, located in the north of Ostrobothnia in Finland. The customer wpd has ordered 33 turbines, supplied in a project-specific operating mode of 5.7 MW and resulting in a total output of 188 MW. This will be the first time for Nordex to install turbines on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 159 meters.

At the end of 2020, Nordex also obtained an order to supply and install 23 turbines in Sweden. Jämtkraft and its partner Persson Invest ordered N163/5.X turbines in an operating mode equivalent to 5.7 MW for the 131 MW wind farm Hocksjön. The wind farm will be situated 20 km southwest of Ramsele in the province of Västernorrlands Iän. The turbines are delivered as cold climate variants due to the northern location, where temperatures occasionally drop down to -33 C. The hub height of the turbines will be 148 meters.

The installation and completion of both wind farms is scheduled to take place in 2022. The orders include Nordex Premium Service contracts, with a period of 15 years for Karhunnevankangas and 25 years for Hocksjön.

More information about the projects can be found in the Nordex Group press releases for Karhunnevankangas and Hocksjön.
