Sweden: Great progress at Nysäter

All 73 turbines in phase 1, Hästkullen, at the Nysäter Wind Farm have completed installation. This important milestone was achieved on 24th July and whilst the commissioning and testing works continue at Hästkullen ahead of final completion, the cranes and heavy machinery have moved on to phase 2 of this great project, Björnlandshöjden, where the half way point with a further 41 turbine installations is fast approaching.

The dedicated work force at our largest windfarm in the Nordic Region, near Viksjö in Västernorrland County, Sweden, have overcome many different challenges since construction of this “turnkey” project began in early 2019. Our team and our subcontractors have endured two tough winters on the project and have coordinated very well the civil and electrical infrastructure works across this vast site, whilst three main cranes have been busy with turbine installation works since late summer 2020. To now see the fruits of this huge effort is truly inspiring and we look forward to delivering production from the entire Nysäter wind farm before the end of the year.

Mr Jan Gräff, recently appointed Vice President for the Nordic Region of Nordex, congratulated the team during his site visit in August: “The completion of this project milestone in one of the largest wind farms in Scandinavia gives me great pride and confidence in the capabilities of the team to successfully deliver more projects of such significant size in the coming years with our strengthened team for project execution across the region.”
