Finland: Nordex employees step outside for some fresh air on Wellness Day

In mid-October, Nordex Group Finland employees all around the country participated in Wellness day, which is an annual event and an essential part of the employee wellbeing program. Since March, the office workers have been following the national remote working recommendation given by the Finnish government and have spent hardly any time under the same roof. The Wellness day gave the team an important chance to interact face-to-face and catch up, naturally with a safe distance between one another and taking other necessary COVID-19 precautions outside in fresh autumn air.

The employees of Helsinki office arrived in Vuosaari’s outdoor recreation area to find soup and coffee to kick-start the Wellness day. After the lunch, a wilderness coach guided the participants through the autumn forest with mindfulness exercises. The restorative activity continued with even more refreshing action – beach BBQ in a rainy and windy weather – but the atmosphere was warm and cheerful. And how could a small gust really scare anyone from the wind industry off? The event offered excellent counterbalancing to the days spent alone in the home offices and reminded of the great team spirit that has gone nowhere despite the physical distance.

The Helsinki office employees were not the only ones who got to enjoy the Wellness day, most Service Point and Pori office workers participated in various outdoors activities during the same afternoon. Helsinki office is located in Ruoholahti and serves as the main administrative office of the country with a constantly rising number of employees, currently 29. The second office, Pori, is smaller and accommodates employees who mostly work in Service Administration roles.
