In recognition of our sustainability achievements, EcoVadis has awarded the Nordex Group its Gold Medal for the third year in a row. The latest result places the Nordex Group in the top 2% of all general industrial machinery manufacturers assessed by EcoVadis.
EcoVadis acknowledged our structured and proactive sustainability approaches in the area of “Environment”, awarding us with an above-average score. We successfully increased our Environment score by 10 points to 90 this year. The following initiatives and projects were positively highlighted: Since the beginning of the year, the Nordex Group has participated in an EU-funded research and development project that helps us to pursue our goal of completely recyclable rotor blades by 2032. Furthermore, the Group also signed the “Business Ambition for 1.5°C” charter and is also a member of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI). By signing the charter, we have committed ourselves as a company to combating the rise in global temperature proactively, and implementing appropriate climate targets and measures to achieve this.
Potential for improvement was identified by EcoVadis in the area of “Sustainable Procurement”. Implementation of respective measures in alignment with regulatory requirements are part of our Sustainability Strategy 2025.
The EcoVadis methodology assessed the Nordex Group’s CSR performance on the basis of our CSR-related policies, measures, and published reporting, focusing on four topic areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement, and summarized a Nordex CSR scorecard. Analysts considered our industry, our company size and geographical location.
