Nordex receives the “Building Public Trust Award” for the best sustainability reporting in the “Taxonomy Reporting” category

Since 2016, the Nordex Group has responded to the growing information needs of its stakeholders by providing not only information on its business activities, but also insights into its holistic approach to sustainability, supplying information on its environmental, social and governance performance. We are committed to comprehensive and transparent reporting through our annual Sustainability Report.

That’s why we were particularly proud to receive the “Building Public Trust Award” for the best sustainability reporting in the “Taxonomy Reporting” category for our 2022 Sustainability Report. The award was presented at the Sustainability Congress in Berlin, Germany by the Sustainable Finance Research Group headed by jury chairman, Prof. Dr. Alexander Bassen, Chair of Capital Markets and Management at Hamburg University. The jury, consisting of experts from academia and economy, acknowledged the credibility, consistency, completeness, relevance, and reliability of the information presented, as well as the quality of information integration and the use of innovative reporting approaches.

In the reporting year 2022, the Nordex Group achieved a very high level of taxonomy alignment of 99.79% of Nordex’ business activities (“Projects” and “Service”), primarily contributing to the first environmental goal “Climate change mitigation”. Of the Nordex Group’s total operating expenses (OpEx), 93.38% were classified as taxonomy-aligned in 2022. The share of capital expenditure (CapEx) was slightly lower at 74.65%.

Dr. Sandra Pfeiffer, Director Sustainability, accepted the award on behalf of the Nordex Group and exchanged experiences on the reporting implementation with the winners of further categories in a panel discussion.

Our detailed reporting on the EU Taxonomy can be found in the Sustainability Report 2022 on p. 32.
