Norway: First turbine installed on Øyfjellet

On the 22nd of May, Nordex Group’s Project Management team reached a major milestone on one of the company’s biggest projects in the Nordic region, when the first wind turbine was installed on Øyfjellet wind farm in Norway. This success is thanks to a committed local team who has been working hard despite difficult site conditions due to the long winter in Northern Norway where the site is located.

The wind farm features N149/5.X TS105 turbines which are manufactured in the Nordex production facilities in Europe. As a fun fact, the 1000th ever-produced nacelle of the Delta4000 series will be delivered to Øyfjellet from our Rostock factory.

The wind farm will consist of 72 turbines and the rest of these are planned to be installed and commissioned by the end of 2021. Pictured here is the lifting operation done with the main crane.

Installations continue on the site and Nordex wishes the construction team a safe and successful continuation of the project!
