Nordex SE: Tailwind for Nordex in Germany: Further contracts for 77 MW signed

Nordex SE / Key word(s): Incoming Orders02.07.2013 / 09:02---------------------------------------------------------------------Hamburg, 2 July 2013. Over the past few months, Nordex SE has receivedcontracts for the delivery of a total of 31 multi-megawatt turbines forseveral wind farms in Germany. Leading the race once again was theN117/2400 light wind turbine, of which 24 alone have been sold. Nordex willbe installing five of these turbines at the 'Kirchhain' wind farm nearHohenahr in North Hesse for its long-standing customer Abo Wind. A furtherseven turbines will be delivered to BOREAS Energie GmbH for the HochheimI-III wind farms near Gotha in Thuringia. In response to the heighteneddemand from Thuringia - as also reflected in contracts received frommeridian Neue Energie GmbH at the beginning of the year - Nordex will beestablishing two local service points in this state close to the windfarms. The latest orders also include three Generation Delta turbines, whichNordex is installing at sites in Germany with medium and strong winds forthe first time. Thus, it is installing an N117/3000 turbine at the Jannebycitizen-owned wind farm in Schleswig-Holstein as well as an N100/3300 ontowers of different hub heights. The third turbine - an N117/3000 mountedon a 141-metre hybrid tower - has been ordered by local utility HamburgEnergie for the Köhlbrandhöft in the port of Hamburg close to the Elbetunnel. The main reasons for the contract awards were the economic efficiencydisplayed by the turbines as well as the favourable past experience whichcustomers have of Nordex turbines and service. Regionally, the company'sactivities in Germany for the N117/2400 are concentrating on the states ofBavaria, Thuringia, Baden-Württemberg and Hesse. With the commencement ofseries production of Generation Delta in 2014, customers at coastallocations with medium and strong wind conditions as well as inhigh-altitude non-coastal locations will benefit from the highly efficientturbines. Says Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, a member of Nordex's ManagementBoard: 'Thanks to the recent contract awards, we see a good chance ofadditionally reinforcing our market position in Germany. And I am pleasedthat we are achieving this not only with the N117/2400 for low windlocations but also with our Generation Delta turbines for windy sites likein Northern Germany.'About NordexAs one of the technological leaders in multi-megawatt wind power systems,Nordex is benefiting from the trend in favour of large-scale turbines. TheGeneration Gamma range comprises the N90/2500, N100/2500 and the N117/2400,which is one of the most efficient onshore turbines. To date, over 2,200 ofthese turbines have been produced. This experience with multi-megawattturbines gives Nordex a decisive lead over most of its competitors. WithGeneration Delta, Nordex is now offering the fourth generation of itsproven multi-megawatt platform (N100/3300, N117/30). Nordex has installed atotal of around 5,300 turbines with an aggregate capacity of more than8,500 MW all around the world.
