Nordex unveiling the N131/3300 – the turbine tailor-made for light-wind German regions

DGAP-News: Nordex SE / Key word(s): Product Launch2015-09-14 / 08:16---------------------------------------------------------------------Hamburg/Husum, 14 September 2015. In a fitting move for "Husum Wind", thewind industry exhibition taking place on 15 - 18 September 2015, which isfocusing solely on the core German market for the first time, Nordex SEwill be presenting the light-wind N131/3300 turbine, which it has developedspecifically for the German market. The N131/3300 is a new version of the N131/3000 from the Generation Deltarange. With a rotor diameter of 131 metres and nominal output ten percenthigher than that of the N131/3000, it can boost yields by between four andsix percent depending on the location. With the N131/3300, Nordex is thuscompleting the next systematic step towards its own goal of additionallyreducing the cost of energy achieved by its turbines. At the same time, itis an appropriate recipe for further growth in Germany. What is more, larger hub heights permit additional yield gains: TheN131/3300 will be available on a hybrid tower with a hub height of 134metres or 164 metres. Type testing for the N131/3300 is expected to becompleted by the end of 2015 for the 134-metre hub height and by mid-2016for the 164-metre hub height. The N131/3300 has a guaranteed noise emission level of a low 104.5 dB(A) -even in yield-optimised operations without the use of any acousticassistance. The light-wind N131/3000 turbine, which has an identical designto the N131/3300, is currently undergoing field testing. Preliminaryresults of sound emission testing confirm the forecast figures: at 103.1 dB(A), the turbine even remains below the guaranteed maximum level of 104.5dB (A). These results also apply to the N131/3300, thus making itattractive for locations for which the approval procedure entailsheightened sound level requirements.Series production of the N131/3300 with a hub height of 134 metres will becommencing from mid-2016, with the taller version to go into productiontowards the end of the year. This means that the N131/3300 can already beincluded in applications for permits for 2016.With its platform structure and identical guaranteed sound level, theconversion of existing applications from the N131/3000 to the N131/3300will be particularly straightforward. The advantage for customers is thatthe tendering process will be governed by EEG 3.0 (New German RenewableEnergy Sources Act) from 2017. All turbines which are approved under theGerman Federal Emission Protection Act before the end of 2016 must beassembled by the end of 2018 and will then be subject to the feed-intariffs provided for in the 2014 Renewable Energies Act.Internationally, the N131/3000 currently remains the right turbine forlight-wind regions as most international locations make greater demands dueto the wind and climatic conditions.About NordexAs one of the technological leaders in multi-megawatt wind power systems,Nordex is benefiting from the trend in favour of large-scale turbines. TheGeneration Gamma range comprises the N90/2500, N100/2500 and the N117/2400,which is one of the most efficient series turbines for non-coastal regions. To date, over 4,000 of these turbines have been produced. With GenerationDelta, Nordex is now offering the fourth generation of its provenmulti-megawatt platform (N100/3300, N117/3000, N131/3000, N131/3300).Nordex, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, has installedmore than 6,000 turbines with an aggregate capacity of over 10,000 MW allaround the world. With exports accounting for around 70 percent of itsbusiness, Nordex SE also plays a key role in international high-growthregions. The Company has offices and subsidiaries in 22 countries aroundthe world The Group currently has around 3,000 employees around the world.---------------------------------------------------------------------2015-09-14 Dissemination of a Corporate News, transmitted by DGAP - aservice of EQS Group AG.The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. The DGAP Distribution Services include Regulatory Announcements,Financial/Corporate News and Press Releases.Media archive at www.dgap-medientreff.de and www.dgap.de---------------------------------------------------------------------Language: English Company: Nordex SE Erich-Schlesinger-Straße 50 18059 Rostock Germany Phone: +49 381 6663 3300 Fax: +49 381 6663 3339 E-mail: info@nordex-online.com Internet: www.nordex-online.com ISIN: DE000A0D6554 WKN: A0D655 Indices: TecDAX Listed: Regulated Market in Frankfurt (Prime Standard); Regulated Unofficial Market in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover, Munich, Stuttgart End of News DGAP News Service --------------------------------------------------------------------- 394241 2015-09-14
