Nordex to supply turbines to 47.5MW wind farm in County Londonderry

Hamburg, 20 July 2016. The Nordex Group has landed another order in Northern Ireland. The manufacturer will be installing 19 N90/2500 turbines for the “Brockaghboy” wind farm in Country Londonderry, Northern Ireland in spring 2017. This 47.5 MW project, developed by TCI Renewables, is owned by the Italian power plant operator ERG Renew – one of the major European players, with an installed capacity of 1.7 GW in seven countries.

“We are pleased to have ERG as a customer in this project. This highlights the fact that Nordex is once again the first choice among large power plant operators and energy suppliers,” said CSO Patxi Landa. For years now ERG has been operating N90/2500s in Italy and plans to use this turbine on an 80-metre tubular steel tower at this very high-yield site with average wind speeds in excess of 9m/s. The turbines certified for IEC 1a will be operated and maintained under a 10-year Premium (Full Service) contract from the Nordex service point in Omagh.
