UK wind farm developer RES has awarded Nordex two newcontracts for a combined 17 wind turbines with a to-tal capacity of 42.5MW. Nordex will be supplying seven N100/2500 turbines for the "Turncole"wind farm in Essex. With delivery sched-uled for July 2016, the turbineswill be fully operational in January 2017.The second project "Minnygap" is located in Dumfries and Galloway insouth-western Scotland. Nordex will likewise be supplying N100/2500turbines for this wind farm from August of next year. Fitted with tenturbines, the wind farm will have a capacity of 25 MW and will also begoing online in January 2017.Both sites are characterised by moderate wind speeds. Consequently, theN100/2500, which is designed for wind class IEC 2, is the perfect choicefor these projects.
