DGAP-News: Nordex SE / Key word(s): Strategic Company Decision22.05.2014 / 09:02---------------------------------------------------------------------Hamburg, Rostock 22 May 2014. "The rotor is the motor", said Nordex CEO Dr.Jürgen Zeschky at a local press conference in Rostock hold May 21st,highlighting the strategic importance of rotor blades as a core technology.Last year, Nordex SE achieved growth of around 33 percent, not least due tostrong demand for its highly efficient turbines with their rotors of anabove-average size. The company wants to reinforce this success and willtherefore invest an amount in the double-digit millions in seriesproduction of modern, large-dimensioned rotor blades. This investment will initially involve the expansion and modernisation ofits own plant in Rostock. The other half of the funds will be channelledinto a long-term "built-to-print" strategy with international partners toharness the cost advantages of their international production facilities. This is because more than 80 percent of all turbines which Nordex installsfor its customers go on line in countries outside Germany.Zeschky explains: "We will expand our rotor blade plant in Rostock tobecome the lead factory." In future, Nordex's Rostock-based plant willconcentrate on producing the most modern and largest rotor blades. Over thenext few years these will be the NR58.5 and NR65.5 blades for theN131/3000, N117/3000 and N117/2400 turbines. With sales volumes expected torise, Nordex wants to increase the production output at its own plant. Atthe same time, it remains committed to covering only 20 to 30 percent ofits requirements internally. The greater dimensions of the products and tools (moulds) necessitatemodifications to the existing production halls. In addition, an entirelynew hall for rotor blade finishing will be built. The resultant physicalseparation of basic production and finishing removes the need for complexproduction steps in cabins and facilitates quality assurance. All told, Nordex will invest some EUR 50 million on the implementation ofits blade strategy between 2014 and 2016. In Rostock alone, a budget ofaround EUR 25 million has been set aside for new and additional tools(moulds) and for the construction of the new hall.End of Corporate News---------------------------------------------------------------------22.05.2014 Dissemination of a Corporate News, transmitted by DGAP - acompany of EQS Group AG.The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.DGAP's Distribution Services include Regulatory Announcements,Financial/Corporate News and Press Releases.Media archive at www.dgap-medientreff.de and www.dgap.de---------------------------------------------------------------------Language: English Company: Nordex SE Erich-Schlesinger-Straße 50 18059 Rostock Germany Phone: +49 381 6663 3300 Fax: +49 381 6663 3339 E-mail: info@nordex-online.com Internet: www.nordex-online.com ISIN: DE000A0D6554 WKN: A0D655 Indices: TecDAX Listed: Regulierter Markt in Frankfurt (Prime Standard); Freiverkehr in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover, München, Stuttgart End of News DGAP News-Service --------------------------------------------------------------------- 269953 22.05.2014
