“RECAFEL”
The project
NEW PASSIVE COOLING TECHNOLOGIES BY PHASE CHANGE WITHIN AN ELECTROLYZER
The objective of the RECAFEL project is to improve the efficiency of hydrogen electrolyzers and reduce energy consumption for H2 generation by advancing cooling solutions for electrolyzers using innovative technology, through devices called thermosiphons. This technology allows heat transfer through the evaporation and condensation of a fluid, being more efficient and reliable than traditional cooling methods, such as water recirculation circuits. The project partners – Alaz Arima and Nordex Electrolyzers S.L. – have received a grant of €43,250 by the Government of Navarra, 40% cofinanced by the European Regional Development Fund through the Operative Program ERDF 2021-2027 of Navarra. The project will run from 2024 to 2026.
