Nordex Group supplies 12 turbines for the Erftstadt-Friesheim wind farm in Germany\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

  • Solid order intake of around 200 MW and positive signals in the German market<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Hamburg, 6<\/b>\u00a0July 2023<\/b>. The German developer REA has placed an order with the Nordex Group for the supply of 12 turbines with a total capacity of 43 MW. Eight turbines of the type N117\/3600, and four turbines of the type N131\/3600, with a rated output of 3.6 MW each, will be installed. The order also includes a Premium Service contract for the maintenance and servicing of the turbines for a period of 20 years. The wind farm is located in the area of the town of Erftstadt, a few kilometers from the rotating radio beacon of German air traffic control at the N\u00f6rvenich air base.<\/p>\n

    Based on the latest scientific findings, Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH, together with the Federal Supervisory Office for Air Navigation Services (BAF), reviewed the specifications for the required distances between wind turbines and air traffic control and meteorological systems in August 2022, and decided to reduce them. The change is intended to create further potential for areas for wind energy production in Germany.<\/p>\n

    “We are pleased that this project can now be realized and that, in addition, the trend of solid demand in our home market is continuing,” explains Karsten Br\u00fcggemann, Vice President Central and Managing Director of Nordex Germany GmbH. “As in the first few months of the year, Germany was also one of our strongest markets in the second quarter, with orders totaling around 200 MW.”<\/p>\n

    Despite another slightly undersubscribed tender in May, the tender results for onshore wind in the first half of the year also show a positive trend: in February and May, contracts for almost 3 GW were awarded.<\/p>\n

    “Nordex Group turbines account for around 30 percent of this, and it appears that our customers were particularly convinced by the latest turbine models in our Delta4000 series,” says Karsten Br\u00fcggemann, pleased with the current results.<\/p>\n

    Further tenders will take place on 1 August and 1 November this year. Throughout the whole of 2022, only 3,295 MW was awarded for onshore wind.<\/p>\n

    The Nordex Group <\/b><\/p>\n

    As of year-end 2022, the Group installed more than 43 GW of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets, and generated revenues of EUR 5.7 billion. The company currently employs a workforce of approx. 9,000 employees. The joint manufacturing capacity includes factories in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the United States, India and Mexico. The company’s product portfolio is focused on onshore turbines in the 4 to 6.X MW class, which are tailor-made for the market requirements of countries with limited space and regions with limited grid capacity.\u00a0<\/p>\n
